# How to make faceless YouTube Shorts

> A practical way to make faceless YouTube Shorts: pick a format, write a hook, generate voice and captions in Faceless, then upload the file.

A faceless Short is a vertical video with a voice and captions and nobody on camera. Faceless builds that file from a topic or a script.

## What YouTube is actually ranking
Shorts are watched with the sound off as often as on. Captions have to carry the sentence. A face is optional. A clear first line is not.

Faceless is built for that file: vertical video, voiceover, and burned-in captions, from the iOS app, the Android app, or the web dashboard.

## A repeatable episode
Pick a script style and reuse it. Historical, top 5, science, and did-you-know are already in the slideshow generator. The series is the niche plus the format, posted on a schedule you can keep.

## Steps

1. **Pick one format and stay with it.** Slideshow for facts and lists. Gameplay for storytime. Text to video when the scenes themselves should move. One channel, one format, is easier to repeat.
2. **Write the hook first.** The first sentence is the first caption. Say the fact, the ranking, or the stakes before any setup.
3. **Generate, export, upload.** Create the short in Faceless, save the file, and upload it in the YouTube app. Faceless does not post it for you.

## FAQ

**Do I need to show my face on YouTube Shorts?**

No. A voice, captions, and visuals are enough. That is the faceless format.

**Which Faceless format should a new Shorts channel use?**

Start with slideshow if the channel teaches or lists things. Start with gameplay if the channel tells stories.

**Can Faceless upload the Short?**

No. Export the video and upload it in YouTube.
